April 20, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 162 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 76 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 86 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 14 people are positive from operational resorts, and 68 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 26,667 cases, including 2,784 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 2,873 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 112 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 23,803.

According to HPA, there are 74 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 71 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 284,973 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 51,350 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
