April 21, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 253 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 111 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 142 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 64 people are positive from operational resorts, and 61 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 26,920 cases, including 2,905 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,286 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 132 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 23,935.

According to HPA, there are 83 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 71 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 285,562 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 56,817 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
