April 22, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 164 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.
The total positive cases recorded include 67 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 97 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 24 people are positive from operational resorts, and 68 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 27,084 cases, including 2,939 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 3000 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 130 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 24,065.
According to HPA, there are 90 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 71 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
In addition to this, a total of 287,171 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 62,586 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
