April 24, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 218 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 76 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 142 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 06 people are positive from operational resorts, and 135 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 27,621 cases, including 3,307 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,375 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 118 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 24,234.

According to HPA, there are 101 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 71 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 290,014 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 70,983 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
