May 03, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 585 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 397 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 188 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 11 people are positive from operational resorts, and 160 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 31,330 cases, including 6,033 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,255 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 146 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 25,214.

According to HPA, there are 173 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 74 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 297,639 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 108,494 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
