The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of the Maldives hired Fathmath Faruhyza and Hassan Shafeeu as High Court Judges.
JSC said that the recent guidelines have been followed in the hiring process of judges. JSC confirms that all the applicants went through a screening process of the advisory committee for hiring judges. The committee reports show, Uz. Fathmath Faruhyza as the highest recommended and second recommendation was Uz. Hassan Shafeeu. Then from the JSC’s 68th meeting it was decided to hire Uz. Fathmath Faruhyza and Uz. Hassan Shafeeu as high court judges.
Uz. Faruhyza has completed Bachelor of Law (honours) and Masters of Cooperative Law in Malaysia International Islamic University. She has 10 years of experience as a lawyer along with working as a public prosecutor and private practices. She also has experience in teaching Law.
Uz. Hassan Shafeeu has completed Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Maldives College of Higher Education and Masters of Cooperative Law in Malaysia International Islamic University. Since 2013 he has worked in Family Court and Civil Court as a Judge. He has 14 years of experience, along with teaching Law and drafting laws.
