First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has announced the establishment of her own non-governmental organization (NGO), aimed at expanding ongoing efforts to address critical social issues in the Maldives.

The announcement was made during the 7th Edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative (MFFLI) Committee Meeting, held today in Dubai, where the First Lady delivered a keynote address on major challenges including cyberbullying, juvenile delinquency, and food security.

She described the NGO as a platform to strengthen interventions and promote solutions to social challenges, drawing inspiration from her collaboration with the Merck Foundation.

The First Lady also presented a video summarizing her initiatives over the past 18 months, and thanked the Merck Foundation for its continued support in strengthening the Maldives’ healthcare system.

However no further details were provided on her NGO.

First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed concluded her visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and returned to Malé today after attending the 7th Edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative Summit (MFFLI), which took place from June 18 to 19, 2025.
