First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has highlighted the important role of mothers in shaping their children’s interests and skills, noting that domestic work can inspire future professional development.

She made the remarks as Guest of Honour at the certificate awarding ceremony of the Beginners’ Electrician Course for Women, conducted by the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO). The course aims to equip women with the skills to independently handle household electrical issues.

The First Lady emphasized that women bear significant responsibilities at home and in society, and providing them with technical expertise can lead to positive changes in households and communities. She also highlighted the importance of basic knowledge in service sectors, including the safe and efficient use of electricity and energy conservation.

A total of 116 women completed the course across seven batches, with 81 participants receiving certificates at the ceremony. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed personally presented certificates to 30 graduates.

The event was attended by STELCO Managing Director Ahmed Shamah Rasheed and other senior officials.
