The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has risen to 139, with 10 fatalities reported this Monday.
As per the Health Protection Authority's (HPA) information, the 139th Covid death is an 86-year-old Japanese male admitted at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. He passed away at 07:53 pm today.
Earlier today, 07 patients admitted at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility, one who was brought to IGMH/ER, and one patient admitted at Lh. Hinnavaru Health Center has passed away. HPA has confirmed all deceased as Covid-19 fatalities.
Maldives reported the first death to Covid-19 on April 29 last year. But this May has seen the highest number of fatalities in the Maldives, with a total of 66 fatalities. As per the statistics, 123 locals and 16 foreigners have passed away from Covid-19 complications in the Maldives.
