May 25, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1004 additional cases of Covid-19. But HPA has not released any details of the pending results from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month. HPA is also yet to confirm whether the backlog is cleared or not.

The total positive cases recorded include 835 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 169 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 12 people are positive from operational resorts, and 153 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 58,345 cases, including 24,033 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,030 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 1,023 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 34,159.

According to HPA, there are 1289 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 144 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
