President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with the Mayor of Malé City, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu this morning at the President’s Office.
In this meeting, the President and the Mayor discussed the current situation of the capital city and ways to make it safer and more hospitable for its citizens. Urgent matters that need immediate resolving and ways to reduce recurring problems were also discussed.
Dr. Muizzu had also shared ongoing projects being carried out by the Malé City Council and plans for upcoming projects. The Mayor expressed his wishes to work alongside President Solih’s administration and assured that he would give full support to the government. The President guaranteed that the council would receive full support and resources from the government to carry out any work that would lead to dignified living for Malé residents.
The President also discussed policies that could further improve Malé City and broader decentralization plans during Thursday’s meeting.
