May 27, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 901 additional cases of Covid-19.

The total positive cases recorded include 468 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 433 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 11 people are positive from operational resorts, and 417people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 61,844 cases, including 24,818 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,821 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 1,497 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 36,862.

According to HPA, there are 252 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 155 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 308,905 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 163,789 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
