The Education Ministry of the Maldives announces reopening of Male’ City schools on October 4th.
Further elaborating, the Education Ministry said that the announcement comes after referring to the Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s advice on the current situation. From October 4th, key stages 4 and 5, which is grade 9 - 12, will commence its classes in Male’ City Schools.
Due to covid-19, Maldives closed all the schools and continued classes through teleclass, online google classroom, and viber. But in the month of July, all the schools reopened and in all the islands other than male,’ continued studies from grade 1 - 12 classes while in Male’ city; studies were continued for only grade 9 - 12 classes.
Considering the increase of covid-19 cases in the greater Male’ area, once again the schools were closed temporarily in the greater Male’ area. The most recent temporary closure was brought into effect on 17th of this month.
