Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has contracted the Harbor upgrading project of K. Girifushi Island (The Island which is currently used as a military training center) to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The contract was signed in a special ceremony held today at the MNDF headquarters. The agreement was signed by CEO Adam Azim on behalf of MTCC, while Brigadier General Hamid Shafeeq, Commandment of Service Corps, signed on behalf of the MNDF.
Commenting on this, Major General Abdulla Shamaal said that the agreement signed today will kickstart the much-needed development of the Girifushi Training Center’s harbor & shore protection.
The contract signing ceremony held today was attended by the Minister of Defence Her Excellency Mariya Didi, along with senior officers of MNDF.
The Harbor upgrading project of K. Girifushi Island consists of the construction of a 314-meter breakwater. The MVR 18.35 million project is scheduled to be completed in 145 days.
