The World Health Organisation (WHO) donated Medical equipment to the Maldives Ministry of Health to support covid-19 preventive efforts by Maldives, and the efforts to develop the health system in general.
According to the Ministry of Health, the medical equipment donated by WHO includes equipment used in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and in laboratories along with portable x-ray machines, other diagnostic equipment, and test kits.
The donations were received at the Handover Ceremony of Medical and Laboratory items held at the Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) today afternoon. The donation was presented by WHO Country Representative to Maldives Dr. Arvind Mathur.
The Health Ministry said that this will enable improving the efficiency of services in different ICUs and Laboratories across Maldives.
