Ahmed Nareesh, councilor for central Maafannu has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council.
Nareesh was elected through a secret ballot taken at the Male’ City Council on Monday afternoon.
Nareesh competed and won against Central Machangolhi councilor Ahmed Zameer with 12 votes. Meanwhile, Zameer got only 7 votes.
Following the voting, Male’ City Council Mayor, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu congratulated Nareesh on his victory as the Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council.
Male’ City Council stands with 06 Councilors representing the current ruling party, MDP, and 13 Councilors from the opposition, PPM.
