HEP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the recently established Maldives-India cargo ferry service will strengthen friendship between India and Maldives.
The first cargo ship from the Maldives-India cargo ferry service reached northern Maldives, H.Dh Kulhudhuffushi port at approximately 06:30 am on Saturday, 26th September, with over 500 tonnes of cargo.
In celebration of this President Ibrahim Solih tweeted, extending appreciation to India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the government of India for the Maldives-India Cargo Ferry Service going on its maiden voyage between Kulhudhuffushi, Malé and South India. President also said that the cargo ferry would further strengthen friendship between the two countries and bring greater prosperity to our communities.
The cargo ship MV MCP Linz, used in the cargo ferry service link between Maldives and India, has the capacity to carry 380 TEUs and 3,000 metric tonnes of bulk cargo, and was departed on 22nd September from India.
