An Earthquake of Magnitude 5.2 occurred in the South of Colombo this Thursday.
The earthquake occurred around 20:06 tonight, and Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office), has confirmed that there is no threat to the Maldives from this earthquake. As per the MET office, the earthquake was recorded 10 kilometers below the Indian Ocean and 968 kilometers away from Male’ City.
This earthquake is also recorded as the most powerful earthquake to hit so close to the Maldives as of recent.
