August 01, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 115 additional cases of Covid-19.

The total positive cases recorded include 23 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 92 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 12 people are positive from operational resorts, and 78 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 77,547 cases, including 2,556 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,573 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 160 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 74,758.

According to HPA, there are 20 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 221 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 322,710 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 268,244 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
