The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has lifted the monitoring status of H.dh Kulhudhuffushi City and Nolhivaram island.
HPA announced monitoring status last Friday in both Kulhudhuffushi City and Nolhivaram island, due to the captain of Faalhu boat testing positive. Faalhu boat travels between Male’ and Kulhudhuhfushi. Since then a few more have tested positive from Kulhudhuffushi city, while there is no record of positive case connecting to this cluster from Nolhivaram.
Through further contact tracing, 51 people related to this cluster are isolated and including the boat captain, samples have been taken from 30 people, this includes 12 samples taken from the boat crew, and samples taken from 18 high risk people found as direct contact.
So far 7 houses and the Faalhu boat is under quarantine and since the boat made a stopover at Nolhivaram, 5 people related to this cluster are under isolation.
In the statement issued by HPA lifting the monitoring status along with its restrictive measures has said that there was no further need to keep the 2 islands under monitoring status. Although the monitoring status is lifted, the council of the Kulhudhuffushi has advised to continue to take protective measures.
