August 12, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 125 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 30 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 95 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 29 people are positive from operational resorts, and 66 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 78,815 cases, including 2,090 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,048 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 356 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 76,491.

According to HPA, there are 22 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 222 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 341,009 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 292,905 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
