Parliament member Mr Mohamed Nasheed Abdulla raises concern on the sudden meeting held by the Indian ambassador to the Maldives, Sunjay Sudhit, with Maldives Civil Service Commission (CSC) members.

Referring to yesterday's sudden meeting held at the India High Commission in the Maldives, member Nasheed Abdulla said that the Indian ambassador is trying to put his power and influence over the Maldivian state institutions and its independent commissions. Raising his concerns on twitter, member Nasheed Abdulla said that there is no purpose for the Indian ambassador to meet with the CSC members, and accused him of his influence over state independent commissions.

Meanwhile the Indian ambassador to the Maldives has seen meeting Ministers of the state, independent commissions, and senior politicians of the country. As per the opposition, during these meetings, the Indian ambassador seems to be more senior than the states seniors officials, when criticising the states work. Opposition also accuses that the loan support will be increasing more power or influence from India to the Maldives, and a lot of opposition can be seen raising their concerns over this.

Referring to the opposition's concerns, the government officials have said that the opposition's concerns toward the relationship between India and Maldives is the fact that the opposition cannot comprehend the current major development projects with the support from India.
