August 23, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 108 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 37 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 71 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 08 people are positive from operational resorts, and 63 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 80,067 cases, including 1,641 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,900 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 113 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 78,189.

According to HPA, there are 16 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 225 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 372,777 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 299,588 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
