August 28, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 139 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 27 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 112 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 16 people are positive from operational resorts, and 96 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 80,678 cases, including 1,683 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,238 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 63 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 78,757.

According to HPA, there are 11 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 225 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 381,902 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 301,189 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
