September 01, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 189 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 35 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 154 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 35 people are positive from operational resorts, and 119 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 81,301 cases, including 1,794 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,768 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 125 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 79,268.

According to HPA, there are 24 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 226 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 384,444 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 302,512 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
