The Ministry of Finance has stated that the state has spent 89.8 million MVR on income support allowance.
As per the recent reports of the Finance Ministry, by September 14th, the state has released 89.8 million MVR as income support allowance for 8648 people.
The state decided on the income support allowance as many raised concerns over losing jobs and changes in salary due to the pandemic and it is released for those whose income is affected by covid-19 pandemic. The state has decided to release income support allowance for up to a 5000 MVR per person, depending on the impacts of covid-19 to their income
To be eligible for the income support allowance, the applicant has to be between 18 - 65 years of age and living in Maldives.
