President of the opposition party; People's National Congress, Mr Abdul Raheem denies receiving any funds from the MMPRC embezzlement scandal.

As per former Vice President Adeeb a lot of people were involved in the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) embezzlement and money laundering scandal, including Political parties, and many parliament members as well.

Addressing at a recent opposition party meeting, Mr Abdul Raheem called for a proper investigation and denied receiving any benefits from the MMPRC embezzlement scandal.

“We don’t want to release false statements, and we are already seeing those who are concerned about it, addressing it.” said Abdul Raheem.

In his speech, Abdul Raheem praised Adeeb for accepting the charges against him and apologizing for the MMPRC scandal, although taking a plea agreement with the state sounded like a vengeance against Adeeb’s opposition people.

Abdul Raheem also stated that it is clear from Adeeb’s statement that political parties; MDP, Adhalath, and MRM has received funds from the MMPRC scandal, hence called the ACC, Prosecutor General and President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, for a proper investigation on it.
