Maldives Police Service conducting an operation using sniff dogs
Maldives Police Service conducted a narcotics operation using sniff dogs, in Hulhumale’.

Regarding the ongoing multiple narcotics operations by Maldives Police Service, Minister of Home affairs, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has assured the public that the state will not give any protection to drug traffickers.

During today's special operation at Hulhumale’, Police checked different public places including homes, using the sniffing dogs.

Although Police have made an arrest of a woman, no further details were released regarding the special operation.

The special operations were conducted jointly through the Drug Enforcement Department of Police and Special Operations SO Police.

In recent narcotics operations conducted in Addu City, Maldives Police Service have seized 80 Kilos of drugs and arrested a couple of people. Commissioner of Maldives said that the operation was run by the Drug Enforcement Department, Drugs Intelligence Unit, and Divisional Intelligence Department of Maldives Police Service.

From the special operation in Addu City, Ibrahim Rasheed (Abuchaa) who has been arrested on multiple drug trafficking cases was arrested along with former football player Shamweel Gasim (Bonda).
