The Drug Enforcement Department of Maldives Police Service investigates arrested 4 people for smuggling drugs into Maldives.

Further detailing Police have said that Ahsan Ul Hasan (30years), Mohamed Ali Baaig (41years), Mohamed Saadh Varsy (22years), Abdulla Ali Hassan (34years), all 4 people from Pakistan have been the arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the country.

They were all arrested on 11th September when they arrived from Pakistan to Maldives on suspicion of smuggling drugs hiding inside themselves internally. They were checked in x ray machines by police with suspicion information by Customs officers at the airport.

They were then taken to hospital for medical investigations and from which, it was confirmed of having foreign bodies in themselves internally. They were admitted in hospital to remove the drugs from themselves.

Police stated that they hid 81 bullets suspected with drugs, weighing 791 grams.

Regarding the case, the criminal court decided to keep the 4 Pakistani people under custody and continue further investigations.
