January 02: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 161 additional cases of Covid-19.
The recorded positive cases include 40 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 121 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 80 people are positive from operational resorts, and 41 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 96,052 cases, including 2,463 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 3,209 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 79 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 93,314.
According to HPA, there are 16 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 262 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
