January 21: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1697 additional cases of Covid-19.
The recorded positive cases include 677 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 1020 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 60 people are positive from operational resorts, and 680 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 112,628 cases, including 11,535 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 7,263 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 699 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 100,811.
According to HPA, there are 49 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 269 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
