January 29: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 2689 additional cases of Covid-19.
The recorded positive cases include 1296 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 1393 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 20 people are positive from operational resorts, and 994 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 133,288 cases, including 17,732 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 7,013 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 2734 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 115,269.
According to HPA, there are 53 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 274 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
