October 8th; Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 86 positive cases from 1,356 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 72 Maldivians and 14 Foreigners.
Total of positive cases records 57 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 29 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.
With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maldives have increased up to 10,742. This includes 1,112 active cases to COVID-19 in Maldives.
HPA also reported recovery of 42 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 9,589 people recovered.
There are active COVID-19 cases in 20 resorts and in 18 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. The active cases in resorts include 11 Tourists and 15 staff.
Maldives has recorded 34 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
