First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Tuesday urged the public to support and shelter the less fortunate, particularly people going through hardships like victims of domestic abuse.
She made the call while speaking after launching the first edition of the "Saasthura" magazine, published by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services as part of its "Geveshi Gulhun" campaign.
Speaking about the campaign, the First Lady highlighted the importance of building and ensuring healthy and positive relationships at home and strengthening familial bonds, especially by respecting all members of the household. She went on to say that compassion must be a shared value throughout all positions in the family and urged men to recognize the significant responsibilities undertaken by women.
The First Lady also noted the significance of the campaign, launched in 2020, in increasing awareness of and eliminating domestic abuse.
The "Saasthura" magazine features articles on preventing domestic abuse, building and strengthening familial bonds, and information for victims and on victim support services.
