President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday appointed Uz Mohamed Aneel to the post of State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Mohamed Nasih Rasheed to the post of Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.

Uz Mohamed Aneel pursued higher education at the Islamic University of Madinah in 2012, where he attained his Bachelor in Islamic Shariah. He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Islamic Studies program at the Maldives National University (MNU).

Prior to his appointment, Uz Aneel served as the head imam of Hithadhoo Island in Addu City.

Prior to his new appointment as state minister, Mohamed Nasih Rasheed was serving as a Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment.

Mohamed Nasih Rasheed had previously served as the President of the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Council and held the position of member of the council.

Mohamed Nasih Rasheed is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Shariah and Law program. He previously completed his Diploma in Project Management and holds an Advanced Certificate in Youth Development.
