President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the Covid-19 has taught us how important our mental health is for us.
Extending his remarks on World Mental Health day, President Solih said that ensuring the health of the public involves being mentally healthy and that Covid-19 has taught us how important mental health is.
He further reaffirmed the commitment to expand mental healthcare nationwide.
Centre for Mental Health and Maldivian Red Crescent jointly has been providing Psychological Support to those affected through the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. So far, Maldivian Red Crescent has provided Psychological Support to 900 phone calls received through the1425 hotline number, and 44 group sessions.
Related authorities have reported that covid-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of many people, as many had to become isolated and separated from loved ones along with changes brought in to their livelihoods and their income.
