President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday met with the newly appointed members of the National Awards Committee. The meeting was held at the President’s Office.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih praised the incumbent members who served on the previous committee and expressed his appreciation for their work. The President further noted that priority was given to candidates with experience in diverse sectors when new appointments were made to the committee.
He emphasized that the members should continue to work in fairness and in a just manner and that focus should be given to selecting award recipients who serve as role models.
Aneesa Ahmed, the recipient of the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (ODRI) and chairperson of the committee, thanked the President for his keen interest in the committee’s work.
