Health Minister Abdullah Nazim has announced that the government will prioritize cancer screening through the Primary Healthcare (PHC) system to promote early detection and improve treatment outcomes.

In a message shared on the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Minister highlighted the importance of recognizing the courage and resilience demonstrated by cancer patients, their families, and healthcare workers in the fight against the disease. He emphasized the need to renew commitment toward early detection and healthier living.

Nazim noted that cancer screening through PHCs would be prioritized to ensure timely diagnosis and better health outcomes. He underscored that adopting a healthy lifestyle and regular screening are essential measures to reduce the risk of cancer in the Maldives.
