Zakat House has handed over MVR 500,000 from this year’s Fitr Zakat to the ISRA Association to support children in Gaza.
The Islamic Ministry decided to allocate this amount from the collected Fitr Zakat, and the donation was officially handed over to the association on Sunday.
This year, the total Fitr Zakat collected reached MVR 13.3 million—the highest amount recorded to date, according to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The Ministry has also ensured that the collected Zakat will be distributed to those registered in the national poverty register.
