Her Excellency Ishigami Rumiko, the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, formally met with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President's Office this morning.
The event began with a cultural procession from Republic Square, where the Ambassador was escorted by the MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band in a traditional "Haiykolhu" procession.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Rumiko presented her Letters of Credence to the President, who warmly welcomed her to the Maldives. Following the official presentation, the two engaged in discussions on key areas of bilateral cooperation, focusing on disaster management, renewable energy projects, and other developmental initiatives.
