The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has confirmed that the R. Alifushi Land Reclamation and Airport Development project is well underway.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure - Maldives awarded the project to MTCC in September 2021. The project site was mobilized on 9th April 2022, says MTCC.
The value of the project is MVR 451. 6 million and the project was contracted to be completed within 750 days.
Scope of works involves, reclamation operations of 50.5 hectares, construction of a 2871m revetment, a 480m groyne, construction of runway, apron, taxiway, and service roads, terminal building, fire building, installation of firefighting equipment, and a 655m security fence.
