The Government of Maldives has today signed a concessional loan of EUR 18.4million with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance Mr. Ibrahim Ameer on behalf of the Maldives and from EIB, the agreement was signed by the global partner's director Ms. Mariya. The signing ceremony was held at the European Development Days event.
The main purpose of this loan is for establishing a National Health Laboratory and isolation facilities in the atolls. Under this project, isolation facilities will be developed on 18 islands.
As per the Government of Maldives, the loan will help to decentralize and modernize the facilities in the health sector of the Maldives.
