Revenue from Imports and exports has increased by 44 percent last month, according to customs data.

According to the Maldives Customs Service, the CIF value of import goods increased by 78 percent in June 2022, compared to the same month last year. The statistics showed that 2.9 billion MVR worth of goods were Imported in June 2021 while 5.2 billion MVR worth of goods were imported last month.

In addition, import and export earnings increased by 44 percent in June 2022 compared to the same month last year. As per the statistics, the revenue of Imports and exports stood at MVR 394 million, while in June 2021, the revenue of Imports and exports stood at MVR 274 million.



According to Customs data, Oman, India, China, UAE, and Malaysia were the top importers last month. Oman imported goods worth 1.1 billion MVR while India imported goods worth 636 million MVR. China imported goods worth 558 million MVR. The UAE imported goods worth 435 million MVR and Malaysia imported goods worth 428 million MVR last month.
