The former President and current Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed’s phone has been stolen from a restaurant.
This was announced by the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Eva Abdullah, in a message to the Parliament's WhatsApp group. Her message read, that Nasheed’s phone was stolen while he was dining at a UK restaurant and that someone literally ran with it. Eva said that the message was shared by Nasheed’s daughter and that she had asked to block President Nasheed's phone number.
As soon as the message was shared in the Parliament's WhatsApp group, President Nasheed’s number was removed from the group.
Following this, the media spokesperson for the Parliament also acknowledged and confirmed that the incident took place.
