October 17th; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 24 positive cases from 1,572 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 20 Maldivians and 04 Foreigners.

All the positive cases recorded today were from the greater Male’ area only.

With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,178. This includes 1,038 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.

HPA also reported the recovery of 102 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 10,097 people recovered.

There are active COVID-19 cases in 19 resorts and in 20 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. The active cases in resorts include 14 Tourists and 25 staff.

So far, Maldives has recorded 36 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
