Former Home Minister, Mr. Umar Naseer stated that the Maldives in great danger as we celebrate the National day.
Addressing the public on the occasion of the National day, Umar has said that the National day is celebrated on the occasion of the victory of Maldivians against the war held between Portuguese invaders to the Maldives.
Umar further said that Portuguese invaders attacked the country with swords and guns and he warned that the country is in danger with the unofficial ways of influence of other countries to the independence and sovereignty of the Nation.
He further said that as we celebrate the National day, there are 200 Indian military officials across the Maldives, which should be stopped as it will put more dangers to the independence and sovereignty of the Nation.
Umar concluded his message by assuring that he will stay with the citizens of the Maldives protecting the Nation.
Umar Naseer has announced that he will be competing in the 2023 Presidential election, and he has been openly criticizing the Indian military presence in the Maldives. Umar has already warned that if the Indian military personnel does not go with their own will, the citizens will force them out of the country.
