President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that he is very pleased to know that as of today, 15,000 students have enrolled and are now studying under the Government’s free first-degree program.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said the government's aim is to build a well-educated young generation and rebuild the country.

According to the Higher Education Ministry, the number of students studying under the free degree scheme has reached 15,000 so far, including 10,050 girls and 4,950 boys. 5,163 students have already completed their degrees under the government's free degree program.

Following the number of students studying for free degrees reaching 15,000, Higher Education Minister Ibrahim Hassan said the President's presidential promise has given many students the opportunity to study for their first degree in the islands while being with their families. This has greatly facilitated the development of an intellectual generation, he said.
