October 19th; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 22 positive cases from 1,338 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 17 Maldivians and 05 Foreigners.

A total of positive cases records 18 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 04 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,232. This includes 987 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.

HPA also reported the recovery of 37 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 10,201 people recovered.

There are active Covid-19 cases in 18 resorts and in 21 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area.16 Tourists and 25 staff have been tested positive for covid-19 in the resorts.

So far, Maldives has recorded 37 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
