October 21st; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 45 positive cases from 1,801 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 08 Maldivians and 37 Foreigners.

A total of positive cases records 42 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 03 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,317. This includes 988 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.

HPA also reported the recovery of 50 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 10,284 people recovered.

There are active Covid-19 cases in 20 resorts and in 21 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area.16 Tourists and 28 staff have been tested positive to covid-19 in the resorts.

So far, Maldives has recorded 37 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
