Along with information regarding a rally planned, police warns against public gatherings in male’ and mentions that action will be taken.

A statement issued by police mentioned that legal action will be taken against those who organize and participate in gatherings in violation of HPA’s guidelines. This statement includes an appeal to the people to prioritize public health safety in light of the situation, and adhere to HPA’s guidelines.

This statement is issued after opposition coalition parties PPM and PNC, fined with a total of 150,000 MVR, for violation of guidelines issued by HPA under the Public Health Act. They were fined along with several senior individual politicians of the parties from the cycle rally held last month.

Meanwhile, with a higher number of Covid-19 cases in the greater male’ area, to control further spreading, HPA has included gathering of more than 5 people, as violation of the guidelines issued by HPA. Doctors and health professionals have been concerned over the increase in numbers of Covid-19 cases in the greater male’ area, and they have been appealing to the public to follow the guidelines issued by HPA.
